Goodness please, earthly godess

Whoever said women are from the planet Venus must have had a picture of French boudoir in mind. Probably a manicured city where goddesses dressed in Grecian robes would reside. It would have a sweet scent from corner to corner and Sisterhood would be the leading political party of the day. Women from earth however sing a different tune!

Our planet on the other hand, women gossip! We should understand that gossip is actually caused by envy. There is of course good and bad gossip but gossip is gossip. The main reason that women actually gossip about each other is to hide an insecurity one feels about them self. 

In most religious books, envy is a sin because it is a root of jealousy. Have you noticed that when you envy someone, that person just keeps getting better and better at what they do?  We turn to dislike them for what they have and end up gossiping and wishing bad things on them.

These insecurities lead to prejudice. Don’t we all just judge a person by the way they look? Be it in a good or bad way. This is done every day in job interviews, when we serve or are being served in a public place. We judge people from the moment they walk into a bus or taxi. If you are driving, you judge your fellow sister on grounds of what they are driving or if they are being droved. 

In human psychology, a person has ten seconds to make an impression and remember that it is the first one that lasts forever. Women are affected by impressions others make of them be it by envy or gossip, we are all prejudged by our fellow colleagues, family members, friends and the society at large. These are the five main categories of women who receive prejudice more often in the world.

BIG AND BEAUTIFUL

These are the worst of the pack. They are always labelled as being unhygienic, lazy, unhappy, stupid but most of all evil and unattractive. When these women walk into taxis, you will hear people complaining and calling them names. They are often thought of being hungry. Unfortunately, this is often not the case because some of them are actually big boned or are large because of the medication they take. As we watch on and wait to laugh when they sit on a stool, some of these sisters are really happy and successful. Examples of these ladies are Queen Lattifah, Slindile Nondangala also known as Mam’ Ruby, Mo’Nique, Noleen Moholwana-Sanqu and Winnie Khumalo.

TRADITIONAL AND WARM

They can be both from black African homelands to Afrikaner tannies in Kimberly. These women are the more conservative, religious and respect culture.   We often see them as stupid, backwards, abused and evil. What we don’t realise is, these women love their life style and taking care of their homes. This is all they have known and taught all their lives and they are really comfortable with it!

SEXY, YOUNG AND SUCCESSFUL

These young and successful sisters are labelled as sex kittens. Their intelligence is under estimated because everything they own is believed to be gained through sexual favours. Some are called gold diggers or spoiled brats who have parents that provide them with everything. Some even go on an extent of saying they sleep their way to the top that is why they could never be happy with what they have. One other stereotype they have pinned on them is they’re party animals, prostitutes, and man eaters and therefore should never have families.

BIG HEARTED MINDERS

Public or environment minders make sure our environment is well kept. Be it your mamas who clean toilets at malls or public places and those who maintain streets and parks. Others make sure that our refuse bins are sorted out every week. These are the most disrespected and judged women on earth. Lets us walk into any mall where there is a women taking care of the toilets, she is always given cold snares and the most humiliating comments ever. Ask them about their lives and you will be shocked to hear how some of these women don’t really need these jobs because of the houses they live in and the monies they have in their bank accounts!

In the real world beauty or the perfect woman is judged by a light complexion; long sleek hair and a medium proportioned body. She trends the latest fashion/car; has a title to her name and has a family. Regardless of all this, a little bit of prejudice will exist. With all that in mind, do women really come from Venus?
