When being strong is the only thing you have left...

‘Sometimes you just have to pick yourself up and carry on’, that has to be my favourite bumper sticker. If it were not for life peeling our skins back, our skins wouldn’t grow back thicker. It is more like peeling a band aid from a wound. It hurts a lot but in order to take care of the wound and check for healing, the process of peeling must occur.

The multi faceted diamond
Let us all agree that we all had our fair share of butt lashes from life. For some, a boxing TKO that leaves you face straight down on dust and crippled. Brutal experiences such as your body or the body of your own flesh being invaded by hands of a man or rejection from society. We are forced to go through full blown emotions of life cheating a life of a loved one, and we learn that the fine print of the falling in love with someone contract is grief.
We all go through this refinery as we mature. The most beautiful jewels go through the harshest processes to show their worth. Sand paper on the other hand refines the roughest materials and comes out smoother than before.

The gift of inner strength
Minds can never comprehend fully the mysteries of life. One of which is when we are trapped in the downward spiral of any form of frustrations. We still hear that small voice inside that urges you to wake up. Even when it proves the hardest and we really cannot phantom why you have to wake up, you will slowly crawl out of bed and face another day.
We have all been that woman on the KFC advertisement. The woman you were yesterday, now and the first of January woman. The ‘Monday morning’ YOU to the one you promised never to be again. Ultimately, the one every friend wishes she was. For every weakness you have, to another, you show unbelievable strength and honour. It comes from picking yourself up, and carrying on.

The will to live
It doesn’t matter how and where you are entrapped, it is that voice that urges even pessimists to go on. The feeling that says I’m so close yet so far but this is a journey I must take to reach the end of my rainbow. The same feeling that will make you make you contact your higher source of being or buying your favourite magazine-even food when feeling really hopeless. That feeling testifies the remarkable inner strength. It is the will to survive your current stance. We all have it, sometimes need a little peel.

Life as we know it
In the classic chick flick Serendipity, life revolves around fate. It’s a spiritual belief that suggests that all events in our lives are part of a master plan designed to lead us into a universal destiny. If fate were true, what then would now be our point of living and waking up in the morning? We are meant to make mistakes so we can learn from them and figure the answers out. We are reasoning beings capable of shaping our lives the way we need them to be. Allow yourself to be the queen of your castle

The silver lining after the storm
See, it doesn’t matter how bad the fall is, but it’s how you react to the fall. We always rise. That is the beauty of it all. Allowing the super woman in you to come out and confronting your challenges wearing your power suit with your high heels. No bad experience should take hold of your life. Life is a beautiful mess, especially the victory. We know this by the fact that most of the time, we tend to look back and laugh at the past.
